Practice
I had the pleasure of watching this sweet little guy for the morning. He was the PERFECT little baby. He never once fussed. Will was amazing too. It was so cute to see him talk and play with Tucker. He would explain what was on TV or show him how to play with his toys. It is probably giving me false expectations for whats to come! Either way it made me a lot more confident. Thanks Shannon for choosing us to keep Mr. Tuck.

How do you get your pictures to look so fresh and sharp!?!? I am so jealous, I love them!
ReplyDeleteI focus on a few things: natural light, small F-stop (equals large lens opening allowing more light and faster shutter speed), and sometimes a little bit of editing in photoshop with exposure and curves. I shoot in aperture-priority on my camera so I control what F-Stop the camera uses. In auto you don't have this control. I do a lot of "photo shoots" by our sliding glass door in our kitchen because it gives me the best natural light without it being too much. I took these pictures with my AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G lens.
ReplyDeletehahahaha, I thought to myself after reading this that I was going to have to google 90% of what you just wrote. So do you shoot mainly in manual then? I need to learn how to do that. Have you ever heard of clickinmoms online? I have contemplated getting a membership, did you just teach yourself everything? Photoshop is a whole other story!
ReplyDeleteI actually had a membership to clickinmoms at one point but I didn't get much out of it and it is an auto draft through paypal so I decided to cancel it. I have learned what little I do know through blogs like: kevinamanda, pioneerwoman, and mckmama. If I start reading a post they start on something like f-stop I usually end up on google myself looking for more info. I definitely don't feel like I know nearly enough yet. It is mostly just trial and error for me. Sometimes I get decent results. It always makes me feel good when you comment on what I feel like was a good picture! Joe tries to be supportive but I don't think he really gets how exciting it is to have that "aha" picture result. I have always thought it would be cool to take a photoshop class or basic photography class but never have really looked into it too much. I think UFM does offer a class.
ReplyDeleteI just saw these pics and they are too cute. Will looks like he is having so much fun. He will be an excellent big brother! And, thanks for watching Tuck for me. It is nice to have someone that can get you out of a pinch. I'm always here to do the same...
ReplyDeleteI think your pictures are great. I am totally jealous! And yes I get the "aha" thing when you finally get a picture you LOVE!!
